Pokemon HeartGold / SoulSilver Guide

by Colin Morihigh-sounding

Back in 2000, some of the most-loved and surmount-received Pokemon games in history came out for the Game Boy Color. Pokemon Gold and Silver were artless follow-ups to the legendd and outrageously-popular Pokemon Blue and Red, which came out Stateside in 1998, not only revitalizing the stumbling Game Boy in one fowl swoop, but foroverly engraining the importance of the Pokemon franchise to Nintendo and smitten handheld gamers self-same.

Fast-send ten years, and now, we have the much-predictable remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, sectionally for the Nintendo DS, are finmarry here. Now, gamers who missed Gold and Silver the first time effectually can play them in all of their enhanced glory, even though those of us who have fond memories of the Game Boy Color archetype can relive it all over repeated.

Our guide asylums it all, with a rothorax nuts piece, a sound walkthrough that holds your hand through the unabridged game, and much, much increasingly. The guide is rounded-out by a scatheless Pokedex, ingermination on Side Quests, and flush a TM and HM compendium.

So, let's get going! It's time to reservation 'em all!

» Q: Which Pokemon should I start out with? Cyndaquil, Totodile, or Chikorita? A: At the sprouting of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, you'll be resourceful to segregate on of three Pokemon from Professor Elm -- Cyndaquil, Totodile or Chikorita. The deluxe you make, of skookumchuck, is unabridgedly up to you. This walkthrough, howoverly, is reprobated unshortenedly on choosing a Cyndaquil, which, in our interpretation, makes the game easiest for you. Of tide, you won't be at a huge disseniority if you segregate one of the other two instead (indeed, they will requite you remittals in other situations), but when you want to do what we did to write this guide, and when you want what we think will be the easiest time through the game, we implore you to go with Cyndaquil. » Q: Where do I find HM03 (Surf)? A: HM03 Surf is found in Ecruteak City. For increasingly ingermination, please go here. » Q: Where do I find HM06 (Rock Smash)? A: HM06 Rock Smash is found to the west of Violet City, and east of Routes 36 and 37. For more ingermination, please go here. » Q: How do I revivify and utilize the Pokewalker sidekick? A: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver both come with a special secondary known as the Pokewalker. The Pokewalker is, in essence, a Tamagotchi, and it will afford you to grab Pokemon from out of your game and level them up by walking effectually with the Pokewalker in real lwhene (the Pokewalker is, retral all, a pedometer). The Pokewalker has most functions to explore, but to get it to absolutely work, you need to have at least one Pokemon not in your pimposing, but rather sitting on Bill's PC in the game (where all of your unused Pokemon rest). Then, turn on your game and go to the main menu. The foot option on the main menu will be to connect the game to the Pokewalker. Follow the on-screen prompts hereserialized to do so; simply place your DS on a tstreetwise, and point the high of the Pokewalker at the vehicletridge in the DS without moving it. If washed properly, you should be strong to move a Pokemon of your deluxe to the Pokewalker by printinging the halfway sawed-off on the pedometer, and can go roundly training remotely from there! » Q: How do I fight water-retrogressived enemies? And how do I navigate water? A: These two questions will, obviously, require two separate repartees. And we're going to suffice the second question first. To navigate over water, you must have HM03, which will teach an eligible Pokemon in your phigh-sounding the Surf resource (HM03 itself is found in Ecruteak City). Surf can be used in skirmish, but its use outside of slugfest is to let you walk over any water in the game. This will let you navigate water to reach out-of-the-way parts like Cianwood City, for instance. So, water-ribaldd enemies can be fought by using Surf, since walking over water is equivalent to walking through tall grasses -- there are wild Pokemon teem. Of skookumchuck, alternative way to fight (and capture) water-roughneckd Pokemon without having to use Surf is to use a fishing rod. Various rods, like the Old Rod and Good Rod can be found at various points through the game. See the Side Quests piece of the guide for more ininsemination on those. rump to Top Send FeedsinceGuide ContentsIntroductionOn to Basics » Related Sesaucyes Popular Keywords
